Abstract

Arabic rhetorical studies are witnessing a rapidly growing research movement, reflected in numerous works ranging from theory to practice and encompassing various forms of discourse. Particular attention has been devoted to examining the active elements of discourse through the development of a new rhetoric grounded in the classical rhetorical tradition. Argumentation has thus become closely associated with oratory and the rhetoric of persuasive discourse, since influence and persuasion in human communication require modern rhetorical, stylistic, argumentative, and textual mechanisms for the effective analysis of texts.

Mohammed El Omari is therefore regarded as one of the Arab rhetoricians concerned with the new rhetoric, particularly through his study of the concept of persuasion in classical Arabic oratory and his engagement with both the Arab heritage and Western approaches. His contribution to the foundation and consolidation of this field is evident in his exploration of the rhetoric of persuasive discourse and its relationship to argumentation.
