New Trends in Digital Fabrication and Complex Building Forms in Parametric Design and Computational Architecture

The quick growth of digital technologies has totally changed the way buildings are designed. Now, it is possible to build new, highly efficient, and geometrically complex structures that were impossible to imagine or build the old way. Because they combine algorithmic thinking, computational modeling, and digital fabrication, parametric design and computational architecture are very useful tools that have changed the way we make and build things. Parametric design, on the other hand, sets up changing connections between design factors, which is different from traditional design methods. This lets architects use computer programs to create, change, and make better a lot of different design options. It is now easier to make architectural solutions that are responsive, flexible, and focused on performance thanks to this feature. It has also helped with getting the designs right, building quickly, and making the best use of the materials. What role do computational architecture and parametric design play in shaping new trends in digital manufacturing and building shapes that are hard to understand? the main ideas behind generative algorithms, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Building Performance Simulation (BPS), and digital fabrication technologies such as 3D printing, CNC machining, robotic construction, and parametric modeling. This study looks into how these technologies help with designing and building complex geometries, make construction more accurate, reduce waste, and support green building practices.
